What is your Sleep Window?

What is your Sleep Window?

Your Sleep Window is the time you should be in bed each night: from your Earliest Bedtime to your Ideal Wake Time.

It may feel shorter than what you're used to. That's intentional: spending only the time you actually sleep in bed helps your body build stronger, more consistent sleep. As your sleep improves, your Sleep Window expands.

A Sleep Window is never shorter than 5.5 hours or longer than 10 hours.

A shorter Sleep Window can leave you sleepier during the day at first. Take extra care when driving or operating machinery, and if you have another health condition, such as sleep apnea, bipolar disorder or a seizure disorder, talk to your clinician before following your Sleep Window.

You can learn more about Sleep Window in our blog article What Is Sleep Restriction?

You can see your Ideal Wake Time and Earliest Bedtime in the My Sleep tab.

Rest is not a medical treatment and doesn’t replace care from your clinician.
